TESTIMONIALS

James Simpson managed a project to erect our garden tunnel on our Kura site earlier this year. He followed up with our local council concerning the consents and structural drawings to complete this project and worked alongside a whānau member who helped with the establishment of the footings.

Prior to James taking over the management of this project, our whānau were at a stalemate with the consent process. In the first instance, we found it difficult to communicate with Council. Secondly, the process and paper work were cumbersome for us creating a huge barrier in moving forward. We approached several people unsuccessfully before eventually securing James’ expertise. As a direct result of his guidance and perseverance, the project has now been completed.

James pushed hard to secure a successful result on our behalf and we found him easy to communicate and work with. He quickly gained an astute understanding of what we required from the project. Without question, James proved to be open, honest and fair in his approach with us and, combined with his expertise, we very much appreciated our time with him on this project.

Any issues or concerns we raised were dealt with in a timely manner through consultation with the Principal and the Kura Resource Group.

I have no doubt James will continue to build a strong team around him and I have no hesitation in recommending him for any projects or potential clients that may seek his services.

Looking towards the future, we would not have any hesitation in working alongside James and his team.

James managed the design and build of the Ostro and Supreme Coffee project in our existing Britomart Seafarers building, involving new build as well as significant services and structural upgrades.

Prior to James taking over the management of this project, it was headed for being well over budget and programme and therefore not proceeding.

James proved to be demanding of the team’s performance and pushed hard to secure a successful result. It is an understatement to say that he quickly gained an astute understanding of what we wanted from the project which he then combined with no small part of determination and foresight into delivering within budget on a superb programme, quality, safety and architectural outcome.

Without question, James proved to be open, honest and fair in his approach with us and, combined with his expertise, we very much appreciated our time with him on this project.

Any issues or concerns we raised were dealt with in a timely manner and if James was not able to have someone attend site, he rolled up his sleeves and got things done for us – even in the small hours.

I have no doubt James will build a strong team around him and I have no hesitation in recommending him for any projects or potential clients that may seek his services.

Although we may not speak often, we are still able to catch up from time to time and carry on from where we left off.

Campbell Williamson Development Director

James joined the team as a Regional Manager, a role which required him to manage the operation of commercial construction contracts from conception to compliance.
In James’ role he required a high level of professionalism and in-depth construction knowledge which he displayed admirably throughout the design and construction of our Hamilton based projects. James demands quality performance from site staff and subcontractors and is extremely organised with the ability to adapt to the constantly changing demands of projects.
James has been a key part of our management team and builds great working relationships with clients and consultants.  He has a thorough understanding of building codes, standards and Acts and has a vast technical knowledge of building techniques and materials.

James has an ability to relate to all his co-workers and subordinates and gets on well with all personality types.  He has a great sense of humour which he uses to his advantage in dealing with staff, and fosters good and ultimately very useful relationships not only with colleagues but other stakeholders and members of the public.

I have found that James can always be relied on to get the job done no matter what the task, and he always fulfilled his duties to the highest standard. His aptitude, abilities and overall attitude place him well above his peers.

He is completely dependable and professional, and always goes the extra mile.
