RBS Group was engaged by the Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board and Trustees to deliver fire‑rating upgrades and building improvements to the Archive Building at 27 The Town Centre, Tūrangi. Beginning in 2022, the project was delivered over a 16‑week programme split across two years.

Working to the BCD Fire Report dated 3 May 2021, our scope included removing the existing stairs and mezzanine balustrade, installing new mid‑floor timber flooring, applying Fyreline GIB to specified walls, and fitting a 60‑minute fire‑rated door with associated hardware and trims. Additional works included painting, installing a gas suppression system, upgrading smoke detection, constructing new timber‑framed walls above the ceiling and below the floor space, and reinstating the stairs and balustrade. We also updated the building’s WOF to incorporate the new systems.
