Waiora House is a purpose‑built social services hub and community facility designed to support the needs of the Taupō community. Commissioned by Taupō District Council, the project commenced in February 2022 and reached Practical Completion in May 2023, delivered on time and within budget.

As the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) contractor, RBS Group worked closely with Taupō District Council staff, the Waiora Community Trust, and local residents to shape a facility that reflects community priorities.

Our scope covered all stages of delivery — from cut‑to‑fill earthworks and retaining structures through to the construction of the new mass‑timber building, landscaping, and installation of essential services including fibre, power, sewer, and stormwater. The stormwater design incorporated partial retention, embedding sustainable water management into the site’s infrastructure.

The project reflects RBS Group’s commitment to collaborative, community‑focused delivery. By working in partnership with multiple stakeholders, we ensured the successful completion of a facility that aligns with local values and strengthens the network of social services available to the Taupō community.
